Since we are stuck at Brundall at the moment awaiting the software to make the radar function, we decided to use the time to do the antifouling we had planned to do later in the Spring so we lifted the boat out of the water last Friday and had the bottom steam cleaned. This removed much of the staining but we have had the hull sanded back and a barrier layer of paint applied over which the new antifouling is being ably applied by Stewart - as can be seen in the photograph. No - he is not laying down on the job - it really is the easiest way to work your way along the underside of the boat and paint at the same time!
We should get three coats on this week and then a white boot-top between the red and the blue of the hull which will return her to even more what she looked like when in the race the last time.
We shall be looking at the Raymarine website with eager anticipation next week to get the software downloaded and then we should be able to move to Lowestoft for the engine commissioning trials.
